Cuisinart CPB-300 SmartPower 15-Piece Compact Portable Blending/Chopping System, Black

I love this product. I was using a regular blender to make a protien smoothie to drink on my way to work. This is much more convenient and is more powerful than my blender. It purees ice in seconds. You shouldn't fill it just with ice. It's made to make smoothies, not just crushed ice. I am very happy with the product. Cuisinart has never failed me with any product.

I have always wanted the ease and flexibility to make my own fruit smoothies in the morning, but hate cleaning a big bulky blender that seems like it never gets totally clean (and I don't have a dish washer). This thing is perfect! I fill my "to go" cup with handfuls of berries and bananas, add a little liquid (recommend coconut water), screw on the "blender" top, flip it over into the base of the blender and hit the button: voila, instant delicious smoothie. Then you flip it back over, unscrew the blender top, rinse it in water and you are DONE. Put one of the tops on the cup and walk out the door (only suggestion: tops that are capable of being totally closed in case you ever want to throw it in a bag or something, these lids just have a big opening for drinking that doesn't shut). Cuisinart CSB-76BC SmartStick 200-Watt Immersion Hand Blender, Brushed Chrome

I cook a lot and put off getting one of these hand stick blenders, considering it a frivolous tool. But I grew tired of cleaning my large glass blender all the time, so I tried this one, and I couldn't be happier! It's much more powerful than I expected, grinding frozen friut, potato skins, onions, etc with ease. And it's SO easy to clean! The beaker that comes with this model is the perfect size for a smoothie. There are other models with lots of bells and whistles, but this one works just great for the price.

I never used my traditional blenders, because they need disassembly to go in the dishwasher. Lame! This thing pops the bottom steel blending shaft/blade thingie off, just that single piece can be easily tossed into the washer. End result: I use it way more! I was worried that it would be too wimpy, but it seems powerful enough. Crushes ice and everything. Also, you can ditch the cheapo plastic thing and blend in any sturdy large glass. I use a mason jar and it works great.
